Warren Colman is known for creating humorous, whimsical characters.


Warren Colman, President and CEO, is a multi-award winning producer, director and writer. He is also the author of five books, one a recipient of the American Library Association's "Most Notable Book of the Year" award.

Prior to founding Colman Communications in 1977, Mr. Colman was Vice President of SA Films, Montvale, NJ. Heading the Chicago office of SA, Mr. Colman managed scripting, production and post-production for a large number of documentaries, industrial films and political campaign media.

Mr. Colman started his full-time career in media in 1971 at Coronet Films, a division of Esquire Magazine. Hired as a research associate, he quickly became a special projects producer. Within a year, he was promoted to an executive producer post, supervising scripting and production for some 20 independent content providers.

From 1967-1971, Mr. Colman was a classroom teacher and educational administrator for the Chicago Board of Education. He holds a BSJ and MSJ from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. While at Medill, he was a Washington correspondent for WBBM (CBS) radio in Chicago, and a field correspondent for KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, UT and KGNC-TV-AM-FM in Amarillo, TX.
